Illustrator A. Blob on the Bus



Jeffrey Y. Burns is a freelance concept artist and illustrator living in Manteca, California. He was born and raised just down the road in Los Angeles, the first of two children.

Jeffrey (Jeff) Burns attended East Los Angeles Occupational Center where he was formally trained in Advertising Design. After 20 plus years as a graphic designer, working predominantly in print media, he decided to become a freelance illustrators having seen many interesting assignments pass his desk. Since crossing over, Jeff has had the pleasure of working on a variety of assignments including; illustrations for children's books, visual development (including story boards for animated shorts), a battery of illustrations for the table top gaming industry, and a successfully funded Kickstarter art book. He works both digitally and with traditional mediums and has even done live paint performances. You can find more of his work at

L.A. Kefalos


L A. Kefalos is no stranger to writing stories to entertain little folks. A. Blob on a Bus is her second picture book in the Blob series, which chronicles school life with a bully. It is the continuation of This is A. Blob, which follows a bully named A. Blob as it makes it away around the playground.  In addition to her picture books, she has also created several animated shorts, including Who's That Knocking; Chug; and Crocs, Pots, and Wildebeests, which screened at the 2010 Los Angeles Women's International Film Festival and was nominated for Best Independent Short Short in the ages 5-8 category at the 2009 Kid's First Film Festival.

L.A. has her bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering and specializes in machine controls. In addition to her engineering background, she also has experience in communications,  writing for multiple Fortune 500 Companies. L.A. is also an alumnus of The Edit Center in Manhattan and served as assistant editor of Red Doors, which won Best Narrative Feature Award in  NY Competition at the Tribeca Film Festival, 2005. L.A. had edited several trailers and had used her editing skills to do sound effects in her own animations.

L.A. resides in New York City. She has traveled all over the world but thinks New York City is the best city in the world.
